Anzac Day

ANZAC Day on April 25 is a national day of remembrance and commemoration. On this solemn day we remember all Australians who have served and died in war and on operational service. The 25th April marks theday the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) 1915 landed at Gallipoli in World War I.

The day begins with Dawn services across Australia with the biggest march being held in Martin Place. The ceremony commences at 4:15am and includes wreath layings and marches.

Another ANZAC Day tradition is two-up games in pubs and clubs across NSW. Its association with the day originates from WWI, when Australians played two-up in the trenches and on troop ships. Look out for some of the biggest pubs in Sydney who really put on a show, one being The Australian Heritage Hotel in The Rocks.
